According to the data of the Spain’s regulator, Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego, the incomes of online gambling industry have increased by 22% in the third quarter.
The gross income in the online gambling industry equals EUR 103 million (USD 112.6 million). By comparison, the total revenue was EUR 98.8 (USD 109.4) in the 2Q of 2016. The most profitable segment is the sports betting. Spanish network bookmakers received the income of EUR 56.8 million (USD 62.9 million) for the third quarter, which amounts to a 15% increase between the relevant indicators of 2016 and 2015. The online casino segment increased by 56.7%.
Herewith, the revenue from online poker shrank by 4.3% and amounted EUR 13.8 million (USD 15.2 million).
Recently, the government of Andalusia expressed the intention to legalize the sports betting.
