The National Diet of Japan has passed an act on the legalisation of gambling. It became possible thanks to the support of a ruling party. Despite the resistance of the opposition, it was able to gather the necessary number of votes. The opposition argued its position so that casinos will entail a rapid growth of crime as well as gambling addiction among the citizens of the country.
However, there are two impressive factors of adopting the law:
- Macau and Singapore have become the leaders of regional tourism;
- Japan will host the next Olympic Games.
To join the race for leadership in this industry in the region, Japan had to legalise the gambling.
The lower house of the National Diet of Japan, the House of Representatives enacted the bill on Tuesday, the 6th of December.
This measure will allow Japanese players to try and play exciting new casino games.
