The Sejm of the Republic of Poland enacted a new gambling law

Deputies of the lower house of the Parliament of Poland voted for a new version of the law on gambling regulation.
The document aims to stop illegal gambling in the country and increase the budget revenue from the legal business. The important element of the new law is the expansion of the list of popular games which may be offered by online casino operators. Eventually, creators of new rules try to protect gamers as well as underage from non-desirable consequences of  gambling.
Representatives of the association of employers and employees of bookmaker firms said that they have high expectations of the law because it will help reduce the loss of revenue.
The association calculated that the country loses annually ~PLN 6 billion (USD 1.4 billion) of tax liabilities due to the illegal gambling. What’s more, the illegal work of 90% of Polish operators creates conditions for the unfair competition from what the legally registered companies suffer.
Welcoming the decision taken by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, representatives of the association expressed their hope that new rules will determine the compensation form for loss of income that equal to the incomes of operators in the “grey zone”.
For now, the new gambling law should be approved by the Senate of Poland.
